thank you for visiting!
I am an Occupational Therapist as well as a birth and postpartum doula. After years of working in home care and outpatient clinics, I became driven to devote my career to maternal health after experiencing postpartum depression after giving birth to my daughter, as well as losing a best friend to suicide from postpartum psychosis. I am passionate about closing the gap in maternal healthcare in our country. I aim to provide timely, accessible education to expecting and new mothers in order to reduce stigma around perinatal mental health, the most frequently identified barrier to self-disclosure. My services promote a healthy and successful transition into parenthood by increasing a woman’s self-confidence and self-efficacy through engagement in meaningful activities. I hope that my practice will help change the standard of care into a pro-active, holistic continuum that meets women where they are, and when they need it the most.
My maternal health training includes:
O.T. degree from Tufts University’s Boston School of Occupational Therapy
Doula training from the International Doula Institute
Postpartum Support International’s Perinatal Mental Health Certification Training
Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction Course created by John Kabat-Zinn.
Certified Breastfeeding Counselor, with advanced training in lactation
Advanced training in perinatal nutrition
Certified Childbirth Educator
Advanced training in pregnancy and postpartum pelvic floor rehabilitation
Crisis management training
I have a music performance background, and love to incorporate music into my practice. I received a B.A. in political science and a B.M. in music performance from Northwestern University. I also have a M.M. in bassoon performance from Yale University, as well as received a Fulbright Scholarship to study music in Düsseldorf, Germany.
In my free time, I enjoy listening to podcasts and webinars related to maternal mental health, spending time with my family, freelancing on my bassoon, crafting, and running.
